I was really happy to see the pushback and especially the mean streak from Myers.
The Canucks knock is and has always been getting pushed around in the playoffs.
I'm willing to take the minor penalties to establish the bully role, rather than the old norm which was to play within the rules and then complain to the refs and media about not getting calls.

One thing I have noticed is Canucks top line of Brock Petey and JTM will cost 13 mil only next year.
We also found out Beagle Sutter and Loui actually do provide value at a reasonable cost.
So with all the whining that the Twinkies on here for the last year (Yes you Marwood) shows they really don't have a fuken clue .
Enjoy the day Carol and a select few in here. The rest of you can carry on with your slurping.
Dreger did mention the other day that Ferland left because of similar symptoms.
See ya soon I know everyone misses me. I did a good mindfuk on some of these snowflakes seeing they are still talking about me two weeks after I left

It's been a pleasant change. As Golfing pointed out, it's easier to accept those penalties when they're winning. Hopefully they keep it up without it costing themselves a game or the series. |

I agree Carol, in that the young guys seem to have built confidence with each game and they’re now in possession of the puck more often, leading to less chasing the game. Takes the pressure off of defending for a weak defensive team.
I don’t really think they have a chance to win a Cup, or even the West, but I really happy they get to experience playoff style hockey.
Boeser has been terrific btw!! |

The year Van moved from 2 to 5 had a huge impact on the team. If Van wins that lottery that year the franchise is not in as good of a place as it is now, that's the year they drafted Petey.
Even if they "deserved" #1, the fate they got ended up being better.
Detroit was brutal this year yeah, but that's the cost of continued success over decades finally coming crashing down, doesn't make them any more or less deserving. - NorthNuck
Canucks management have gone on record to say Makar and Pettersson were their top two guys, even if they’d have gotten the first overall. They just haven’t said who they would’ve taken with it.
Long story short, imo we’d still be in a very good place. |

I like this observation, accurate. Mac almost drew as much powerplay for as Myers did against too. I hope Green lets him go a bit, he was excellent agitating Greenway. |

Harder for Mac to get in the game with so much PK and PP time. Hopefully he gets a bit more action tonight and causes some havoc! |

He seems to get under the skin of both Greenway and Foligno so I hope Green tries to get him on the ice whenever they’re on.
I wish Jake would try to get under the skin of the Wild without taking penalties, he has the speed to keep up with guys like Fiala |

I don't think Jake sees himself in that type of role. I think he believes that he's an offensive guy who skates and hits. What he should realize is that he can do all of that and still get under the other team's skin. He doesn't have all of the skill but he can develop a little of the Brad Marchand attitude. |

That's going to be the worst contract very soon, if it isn't already. |

Which is weird because I’ve seen and read multiple interviews where he says he enjoys that role. He’s a lying SOB. I think he tried to shadow Fiala for one shift but it only lasted about 7 seconds.
If the Canucks win this series, I’d like to see guys like Jake and Bo use their size more effectively to wear down the other team in a potentially longer series. Guys that big and fast should finish their checks hard and drive to the net with the puck instead of settling for perimeter wrist shots. If guys like EP and Fiala are mixing it up, there’s no excuse for these guys not to throw an extra hit or 2 per game when the opportunity presents itself. |

Jake doesn't seem to have that "I'll do anything I can to stay in the league" attitude.
I watched Paul Maurice the other day talk about one of his younger players who fought at every level to make it to the team (in a Burrows-like fashion). He said that young players don't recognize the value of an opportunity, aside from this kid. I find that with Jake, he doesn't seem to recognize how quickly it could all disappear or change for him. |

Their owner is thinking about selling after all the hype that guys like him and Pegula came in with, it’s funny how it’s turned out so far. |

He still has at least 2 more games to redeem himself(unless Gaudette takes his spot). He played pretty decently during the regular season so I’m still holding out hope that he bounces back. |

New Nucker is spicy Nucker!
I agree with your points. The team is early in their development to becoming a contender. They are poised to take the next step. All the players, especially the younger ones (and I include Jake and Bo), should be looking at what role they are to bring to the team as they take the next step.
Bo's role is written but he needs to find new (or improve on) aspects to his game. Adding a bit more sand would be nice.
Jake is still searching for that role. What is he? If he can't or the team can't figure it out, it hurts the team in as much as they could be trying to find pieces to the puzzle (if that makes sense.) |
